Instead of using your actual debit and credit card number, Samsung Pay assigns, encrypts and stores a unique device account number on a dedicated chip on your device. When you make a purchase, that device account number is used to process your payment. Your actual card number is never shared with merchants or transmitted with payment, helping reduce the potential for fraud.
