The exhibit is part of the BB Americas Bank Cultural Series, a campaign to embrace diversity and support local artists while reinvesting into our local branches. “We brought the Cultural Series Orlando to continue our cultural mission to support local communities’ artists and curators,” said Cassio Segura, President and CEO of BB Americas Bank. “We want the community to know that we are a local bank, with a local vision and we want to be part of Orlando’s growth,” Segura said.

According to Segura, the tradition of supporting local artists and promoting diversity within the community is part of their mission that started twenty-five years ago after the first series was held at Banco do Brasil’s Cultural Centers in Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Today, the cultural centers in Brazil serve as creative hubs for painters, illustrators and sculptors. More than 60 million visitors have viewed over 3,500 art projects and attended 12,000 events held at these centers since the series started in Brazil.

Curator Patricia Byron, notes “The vivid contemplation of each artist transcends back to place and home, where the artists have illustrated their own cultural diaspora into their paintings by weaving elements of their native land. From South and North America to the Caribbean Islands, each artists work emphasizes commonalities that unite nations and cultures”.
